1. The Role of Transmission
In the course of motorcycle driving, the speed and traction capacity of the vehicle need to be changed correspondingly and frequently due to the changing road conditions. For example, a vehicle can run faster on a flat road. When driving on a rough road or ramp, it is necessary to reduce its speed to increase its traction because of its high driving resistance. Of course, the engine speed and torque can also be changed by controlling the opening of the throttle, but the range of traction change is very small, far from meeting the needs of motorcycle driving. The role of transmission is to expand the range of motorcycle torque and speed change. so that motorcycle has the appropriate traction and speed, in order to adapt to the changing driving conditions, while keeping the engine at the same time. The best power and fuel consumption work in the most economical condition.
2. Working Principle of Transmission
When the pedal is used to lower the transmission pedal component 6, the transmission shaft 7 rotates accordingly, and the main S of the shift arm welded together with the transmission shaft swings accordingly, while the shift arm 3 is connected with the main body of the shift arm with pin shaft, and the shift arm is always pulled upward with pull spring 4. There are two curved grooves on the drum, 13 sets of two forks on the outer circle of the drum, and two curved grooves are fitted with the guide pin 12 respectively. The two forks are inserted into the grooves of the driven gear 3 and the driving gear 8 respectively.
Therefore, with the rotation of the transmission drum, the fork shifts the gears 3 and 8 axially to achieve the purpose of combining or separating a group of gears. Because the shaft bolt 8 is inserted into the fan hole of the main body of the gear shifting arm to limit the position, the speed change pedal can only make the drum rotate 72 degrees per step, that is to say, only one gear shift can be changed, so the phenomenon of gear jumping will not occur. In order to position the drum without disengaging, the roller 14 on the drum positioning board is always pressed against the positioning pin under the action of torsion spring 2, and is stuck between the positioning pins. In addition, because the curve groove on the drum is closed, the variable speed pedal can be pushed countless times along the positive or negative direction, that is, circular gear shifting. The reset of the variable speed pedal assembly is realized by the reset spring 9.
